Interested in joining the Blue Valley Recreation Commission? Patrons of Blue Valley Schools interested in recreation and community service are invited to apply for a commissioner opening on the Blue Valley Recreation Commission (BVRC). No previous recreation commission experience is required.

Inside the inaugural esports tournament, the atmosphere felt different from a typical athletic event. The glow of screens lit up gaming stations as students leaned forward in concentration, controllers clicking with every move.Teams traded momentum back and forth as spectators watched the action unfold on large displays overhead. Congratulations to Blue Valley Schools' Abby Jones and Jeremy Mohn, who have been selected as the 2026 recipients of the Blue Valley Educational Foundation’s (BVEF) Innovative Educator Award. The BVEF award recognizes two educators who go above and beyond to apply innovative teaching methods in the classroom by creating or using new strategies, tools or ideas to engage students and achieve improved student results.

The Board of Education approved the 2027-28 school year calendar at their April meeting. The calendar was created with feedback from staff and families, and features a weeklong Thanksgiving Break. The calendar is available on the district calendar webpage.
